President’s Welcome

Greetings and welcome to the official website of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® , Sigma Zeta Omega Chapter!  Under the direction of our leadership, International President, Dr. Glenda Glover, and Regional Director, Mary Bentley Lamar, Sigma Zeta Omega will serve the citizens of Newark, DE and surrounding areas.

Alpha Kappa Alpha’s international program theme 2019-2022, is Exemplifying Excellence Through Sustainable Service.  Under this theme we will be engaging the community and focusing on five target areas:

  • Target 1: HBCU 4 Life: A Call to Action
  • Target 2: Women’s Healthcare and Wellness
  • Target 3: Building Your Economic Legacy
  • Target 4: The Arts! and
  • Target 5: Global Impact

Our sorority’s Signature Program is #CAPSM which is short for College Admissions Process.   A program designed to assist students in their quest to enter college by providing guidance and support beginning with researching various colleges to actually completing the application, and enrollment process.

As you explore our website, and get acquainted with our chapter members, history, and programs of service.  You will see that S.Z.O. has a membership of lovely women dedicated to AKA’s motto: “Service to All Mankind”.

I encourage you to visit our ‘Upcoming Events’ page frequently, follow us on Facebook, Instagram and support our programs as we continue our legacy of providing service to the community.  We are expecting great things for 2019.

Sincerely,
Styna M. LeCompte
President
